Yemen Denounces Saudi Airstrikes Against Hospitals as War Crimes

Yemeni officials have expressed outrage against a “deliberate target” of medical facilities in Sanaa, the capital city of Yemen by the Saud-led coalition as “war crimes” and an attempt to increase the suffering of the Yemeni nation.

“As the Saudi-led coalition intensifies its attacks on Sanaa, we have complained to international institutions about the decrease in delivery of humanitarian aid to poor people and Yemeni hospitals,” said Spokesman for the Yemen Supreme Council for the Administration and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Talat Al-Sharjabi.

Moreover, Director General of the Public Health and Population Office in Sanaa, Dr. Mutahar Al-Marwani termed the Saudi’s air bombing on hospitals as a deliberate attempt to the country’s health sector.

“We are already suffering from lack of hospitals and up-to-date medical centers,” he said, lamenting that all medical diagnostic imaging centers are shut down in Sanaa as a result of Saudi’s airstrike.

Dr. Al-Marwani said thousands of patients have remained uncured as the hospitals they were receiving medical treatment were destroyed in the Saudi’s bombings.
