Two Teens Charged With Murder in Shooting 14-Year-Old Girl in Nebraska

Police charged two 16-year-old boys with murder in the shooting of a 14-year-old girl in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Omaha Police Department said in a statement on Dec. 30 that investigators booked two teens at the Douglas County Youth Center for first-degree murder after shooting Isabella Santiago.

Police also charged one of the teenagers of use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Police did not disclose the name of the suspects.

Santiago was shot near 37th and P streets on on Dec. 22. She was taken to the fire station at 25th and L Street at 9:06 p.m. then transported to the Nebraska Medical Center where she later died.

KETV reported that two men who were with Santiago told police that a black sedan drove up to them and opened fire.

The investigation remains ongoing.
