The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and Saudi Arabia Condemn ‘Flagrant Violations’ in Gaza by Israel

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) with Saudi Arabia has condemned Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian territories, it said on Sunday.

The 57-member state organization which held an emergency virtual meeting on Sunday to discuss the situation, has demanded for the complete and immediate stop of Israel’s attacks, in a statement.

The OIC “Condemns in the strongest terms the barbaric attacks launched by Israel, the occupying authority, against the Palestinian people and their land and holy sites,” saying the attacks are a gross violation of international law.

They added that “Israel is an occupation force and does not possess any legitimate right whatsoever on occupied Palestinian land, including East Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Shareef, and that all measures undermining its status are null and void and of no legal effect.”

Saudi foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has also condemned Israel’s “flagrant violations” of the rights of Palestinians.

The Arab Parliament “disapproved the silence of the European Parliament over the flagrant crimes and breachings of the Israeli occupation, in Palestine,” official Saudi Press Agency reported.

In its statement, the Arab Parliament said this “silence” showed its “double standards” as it called for the UN Security Council to urgently act to stop Israel’s violations, the report added.
