Tajikistan President Calls Russia, China as Strategic Partners

Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon called Russia and China two special strategic partners while asserting that the partnership continues to become stronger.

In his address to the nation on Wednesday, Rahmon said his country will follow an open-door policy, and insisted on having good relations with the neighboring countries.

“Foreign policy of Tajikistan does not change and builds upon reciprocal friendship, good neighborhood, mutually beneficial constructive partnership,” Rahmon added.

According to AKIPress news agency, Tajikistan maintains diplomatic ties with 180 countries and economic ties with more than 130 countries.

Tajikistan is also a full member of the UN, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Collective Security Treaty Organization, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other international and regional organizations.
