Roadside Bomb Hits US-led Coalition Convoy in Iraq

A roadside bomb targeted a convoy carrying logistics for the US-led coalition in Basrah Governorate in southern Iraq.

Shafaq News Agency reported that the explosion caused damage to the convoy while there was no information on casualties so far, and no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Recently, several other roadside bombs have targeted US logistics convoys in the Dhi Qar and Anbar provinces of Iraq.

Most of the roadside bombing targets in Iraq were convoys carrying logistics equipment for US troops stationed at various military bases in the country.

The recent roadside bombing happened just after Joint Operations Command of the Iraqi army, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji said on Monday that the US forces have withdrawn from Ain al-Assad airbase in Al Anbar province and that only advisory forces have remained in the base.
