Poland’s Prime Minister Blames Putin for Migrant Crisis

On Tuesday, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for coordinating an attempt by over 1,000 refugees to breach the Polish-Belarusian border.

Morawiecki stated in the country’s parliament that Russia’s “neo-imperialist politics are progressing.”

For weeks, hundreds of migrants from the Middle East have attempted to enter Poland via the forests and through fences along the Polish-Belarusian border, with the Belarusian administration organizing their transit.

Morawiecki described the recent increase as a “directed spectacle.”

Last week, Moscow and Minsk inked a deal to expand bilateral integration in areas including energy, financial markets, and the economy as a whole.
