A Pakistani soldier was killed in Jani Khel area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district in an exchange of fire with terrorists on Friday, the military announced.
As per Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, Sepoy Sarfaraz Ali, age 26 years, a resident of Vehari, was killed while defending a military post.
“Terrorists fired on the military post in Jani Khel area on Thursday night, but the army initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location,” the statement added.
Last month, another soldier was killed in similar incident when terrorists fired at a military checkpost in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district.
During an intense exchange of fire, Naik Noor Merjan, a 32-year-old resident of Kurram, was killed, the ISPR said in a statement on that time.
