Kuwait Health Minister Tests Positive for COVID-19

Kuwait’s Health Minister Khaled Al Saeed was tested positive for COVID-19 virus, his office said in a statement.

“The Minister is under quarantine, but he is in a good health condition,” the statement said, adding Mr. Saeed discharging his responsibility as health minister remotely.

Meanwhile, the ministry said there would be no more curfews or lockdowns despite the country having recorded the highest daily infections of 2,413 people in the past 24 hours, taking Kuwait’s caseload to 425,455.

Ministry Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said another 264 people were discharged from hospitals after being fully recovered from the virus.

Al-Sanad put the total recoveries toll to 412,749, which represents 97 percent of the overall infections.

Zero death cases registered during this period of time, according to Al-Sanad, giving the figures of death toll at 2,469 since the start of the outbreak.
