The Jordan Health Ministry said it has recorded another 295 cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, bringing the total infections of the new variant to 328 across the kingdom.
Without providing further details on Omicron patients, the ministry in a statement on Monday said they have recorded another 1,447 COVID-19 cases and 43 related deaths on Sunday.
Jordan officially has 1,052,868 confirmed cases and 12,487 deaths since the outbreak of the virus started two years ago.
According to the ministry data, 4,313,657 people have received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 3,891,366 have received second shots.
Recently, health experts around the world expressed their concern over the spread of the Omicron variant over the original SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Anyone with Omicron infection can spread the virus to others, even if they are vaccinated or don’t have symptoms, the experts warned.
