Janet Jackson Documentary Sets Release Date, Drops Full Trailer

A four-hour documentary teaser on Janet Jackson’s life and career has been released on A&E and Lifetime platforms.

Janet features unique archive material, home films, and celebrity interviews, including Missy Elliott, Whoopi Goldberg, Mariah Carey, and Ciara, all of whom are shown discussing the icon in the new trailer.

The trailer for the career-spanning documentary touches on Jackson’s personal and professional life, from her relationship with her late father Joe Jackson and brother Michael Jackson to a moment when Justin Timberlake approached her team “about doing the Super Bowl,” which Timberlake headlined in 2018.

Jackson had turned to social media at the moment to dispel reports that they’d be reunited on the halftime performance stage.

The project, directed by Ben Hirsh and co-produced by Workerbee and Associated Entertainment Corporation, is executive produced by Janet Jackson and Randy Jackson. Rick Murray is also an executive producer on Workerbee, and Brie Miranda Bryant is an executive producer on A+E Networks.
