Israeli Warplanes Fire Missiles on Syrian Latakia Port

Syrian officials said Israeli warplanes fired several missiles on Latakia port, which caused significant material damage.

This is the second such attack by the Jewish government within one month, according to Syrian state media SANA.

“At around 03:21 AM, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression with several missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean… targeting the container yard in Latakia port,” SANA cited a military source as saying.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on the matter, but on December 7, Israel said it had struck an Iranian arm shipment at Latakia port.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights in that time said it was the first attack on the facility by the Israeli side since the start of the war.
