Israeli Fighter Jets Strike Hamas Positions in Gaza

The Israeli defense forces (IDF) reported that they have launched airstrikes against  Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in retaliation to a recent rocket attack.

“In response to the rocket fired from Gaza into Israel tonight, IDF fighter jets and attack helicopters struck a Hamas rocket manufacturing site and military post,” said an Israeli military spokesperson.

The IDF said that fighter jets and attack helicopters were used during the strike but did not disclose if any hostile forces were killed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in Beersheba when the rocket attack happened but was safely evacuated from a restaurant.

No one was hurt during the attack and no significant damage was caused.

There are no groups yet which claimed responsibility for the attack but Hamas was considered a prime suspect by the Israeli government.
