Iranian authorities have seized two vehicles carrying 220,000 liters of smuggled fuel in the country’s southern Hormozgan province.
Provincial border guard commander Brigadier General Hossein Dehaki said that the fuels were seized in two separate operations.
The first vehicle with 180 thousand liters of smuggled fuel was seized in Sirik County, and the second one with 40 thousand liters was confiscated in Bandar Abbas city.
Dehaki said that the smugglers managed to flee the area, but police identified them and they will be arrested soon.
Dehaki did not provide more details on the issue, but said that Iran will do its best to prevent smuggling of fuel in and outside of the country.
In August, Iranian police confiscated 32,000 liters of smuggled fuel in an operation in Minab County in the same province Hormozgan.”
One suspect was also arrested.
