Outspoken former Iranian lawmaker, Faezeh Hashemi said that Iran has killed more Muslims than Israel, lambasting Tehran’s foreign policies as “irrational”.
Hashemi, who is the daughter of Iran’s former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, told Iran Watch that Iran can’t deny involvement in killing some 500,000 Syrians.
“It’s highly unlikely that Israel has killed 100,000 and 200,000 Palestinians, but Iran has killed more Muslims than Israel,” Hashemi said.
Hashemi furthered that Iran’s involvement in Yemen and elsewhere has taken more lives than Israel in Palestine due to its wrong policies.
According to Hashemi, Iran’s internal and external policies are irrational and like the Taliban which are based on propaganda.
Hashemi also criticized Iran’s Vice President Mohammad Mokhber for his wrong economic policies, saying that Mokhber didn’t understand the importance of privatization and economic reforms. She said that she doesn’t see a bright prospect for Iran’s economy.
Hashemi furthered that corruption is not just about embezzlement or filling bank accounts with black money, but it’s also about appointing incapable individuals to key posts. She also criticized Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi for appointing inexperienced officials in key posts.
Commenting on the western sanctions, Hashemi said that these sanctions had caused fundamental problems and it’s due to mismanagement within the government system, otherwise, she sid there would be no sanctions.
