The citizens of the Syrian Golan region warned that they will stand firmly against the Israel settlement plan which according to them, is designed to forcibly displace them from their homes.
“Golan has been and still is Arab and Syrian land,” SANA news agency quoted resident Meidian al-Damaqsi.
Al-Damaqsi warned they will not let Israel succeed in its plan to occupy Golan through a new settlement scheme and that they have always stood against Israel in the past 54 years and will do so in the future.
Another citizen, Hayel Masoud claimed Israel sought to extract untapped resources of Golan by taking it by force.
Masoud also condemned Israel’s plan to increase the number of settlements on Golan land.
Syria has been reiterating that the Golan is an integral part of its territory and that it works to return every inch of its soil to the homeland, as it is an eternal right.
Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett on Sunday spoke about a plan to double the number of settlers living in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights with a multimillion-dollar plan meant to further consolidate Israel’s hold on the territory.
Israel captured Golan from Syria more than five decades ago.
