Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Network Yanks ‘Home Work’ After Hosts Accused of Blowing Budgets and Deadlines: “Remodel From Hell”

Magnolia Network, the new joint venture between Chip and Joanna Gaines and Discovery, has pulled one of its episodes from the air just two days after its debut, citing poor work and unanticipated expenditures on the part of its hosts.

Home Work has been canceled, which launched on Wednesday, following claims made by homeowners on social media against hosts Andy and Candis Meredith.

The charges were initially made public on Wednesday in a series of 18 Instagram postings by Aubry Bennion, a homeowner in the Merediths’ home state of Utah. She said that the Merediths were hired to refurbish her kitchen, and that the $25,000 project ballooned to $40,000. She was also told it would take three weeks, but it ended up taking five months.

The homeowner also accused the Merediths of causing a drainage problem by building a deck over a sprinkler system, which resulted in an $18,000 repair bill. She stated in her letter that she wanted Magnolia to be held accountable.

The Merediths, for their part, rejected the allegations in an Instagram post.
