Singapore-based security research firm Cyfirma disclosed that a Chinese state-backed hacking group hs targeted the IT systems of two Indian vaccine makers, Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech.
According to Cyfirma CEO Kumar Ritesh, the state-sponsored attacks were conducted because India produces more than 60 percent of all vaccines sold in the world.
“The name and fame India has gathered in Covid-19 vaccine formulation and distribution is raising eyebrows amongst various groups,” said Ritesh.
Ritesh said that the Chinese hacking group APT10, also known as Stone Panda was behind the attacks.
