California-based software company Business Efficiency Solutions LLC (BES) sued Huawei in the California federal court for allegedly robbing its trade secrets following their joint work on a project for the Pakistani government.
BES accused Huawei of using a “backdoor” software that permitted the Chinese tech giant to collect confidential information “important to Pakistan’s national security.”
The complaint specified that the eight software systems that it developed for the project had proprietary code, designs, and other information that are “valuable trade secrets at the core of BES’s business.”
BES also claimed that Huawei never paid for some of its software and misuses trade secrets in Pakistan projects, and around the world.
Both camps from Huawei and BES lawyers Paul Tripodi and David Vondle of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld did not respond immediately.
