A dermatologist in California was arrested on Thursday after her husband recorded her allegedly poisoning him by pouring Drano in his drinks.
Dr. Yue Yu, 45, was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail.
The Irvine Police Department said Yu was released on Friday after posting a bail of $30,000.
Dr. Jack Chen, a radiologist and Yu’s husband of 10 years contacted Irvine authorities Thursday and said he suspected Yu was poisoning him.
Lt. Bill Bingham told NBC News that Chen “placed cameras in the home that surreptitiously recorded evidence in the case” in an attempt to catch Yu.
Irvine police arrived at Yu and Chen’s home with a search warrant, interviewed Yu, and subsequently arrested her on Thursday.
David E. Wohl, Yu’s attorney, said she “vehemently and unequivocally denies ever attempting to poison her husband or anyone else.”
Irvine police said Chen fell ill “over the course of one month” and suffered “significant internal injuries.”
Wohl said that Chen filed for a restraining order against Yu on Friday, along with filing for divorce on the same day.
