A bomb threat was reported at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Building (HHS) offices which prompted evacuations & road closures.
“This morning there was a bomb threat received at the Humphrey Building. Out of an abundance of caution, we evacuated the building and there is no reported incident,” said HHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Sarah Lovenheim.
Currently, Independence Avenue SW and C Street SW have been closed off to vehicular and foot traffic while there is no information yet if a bomb squad has been dispatched.
The HHS and DC Police have not yet given information on the bomb threat.
