Bangladesh reported five new deaths from COVID-19, and 291 infections in the past 24 hours.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said that a total 20,014 samples were tested during this period of time, yielding a positivity rate of 1.45 percent.
Till today, the fatalities rate stood at 1.78 percent, overall recovery rate was at 97.78 percent, and the overall positivity lowered to 14.32 percent, according to the DGHS.
Since the start of the pandemic, 28,010 COVID-19 patients lost their lives to the virus, while 1,578,011 people were infected. During this time, another 1,542,908 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
According to DGHS data, around 65.3 million Bangladeshi received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 38.49 million among them have taken both doses.
