Audio-Technica Recalls Charging Cases Sold with Wireless Headphones Due to Potential Fire Hazard

Audio-Technica U.S. of Stow, Ohio, recalled about 7,450 charging cases sold with Audio-Technica Wireless Headphones, Model ATH-CK3TW due to potential safety risk.

The portable charging cases can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

The firm has received four reports of incidents of the charging cases overheating, resulting in damage to the charging cases and the surfaces on which charging occurred. 

The charging cases were manufactured in China and were sold at American Musical Supply, Inmotion Entertainment Group, Micro Electronics, Music and Arts Center stores and other retailers nationwide and online.

The company urges consumers to immediately stop using the charging cases and contact Audio-Technica for instructions on returning the charging cases for a free replacement charging case.

There have been no reported injuries to date.
