Activist Group Calls for Israel to Release Palestinian Female Prisoners

Women’s rights activists in Morocco staged a protest on Thursday, calling for the immediate release of Palestinian female prisoners from Israel detention centers.

In a statement, the Moroccan Women Rights Advocacy Group Against Political Detention, strongly condemned the brutal assault on the prisoners by the Israeli police, demanding the release of all prisoners that were detained without any charges.

The protestors had expressed their outrage over situation on Palestinian female inside Israeli prisons, as they say, some of them were placed in solitary confinement.

The Prisoners’ National Movement, a group representing Palestinian prisoners, said they will organize a protest on Friday to demand the release of the three Palestinians detained recently by the Israeli forces.

On Dec. 21, Israeli soldiers detained three Palestinians, including a nursing mother in the cities of Jericho, Al-Bireh and Bethlehem, according to Palestinian Prisoner Society.

There are around 4,650 Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails, including 32 women and 170 minors – another 500 were held without a trial under the Israeli administrative detention policy, the Palestinian Society added,
