Russia Mustering Troops in Southwest Ukraine in Anticipation of Ukrainian Counterattack

The UK’s Ministry of Defense says that Russian troops are mustering in southern Ukraine, in preparation for a possible attack, or in anticipation of a Ukrainian counteroffensive.

Convoys of Russian military vehicles, tanks, towed artillery and weapons continue to move away from the Donbas region and are headed southwest, the ministry said via Twitter.

Battalion tactical groups (BTG), which comprise between 800 and 1,000 troops, have been deployed to Crimea and would almost certainly be used to support Russian troops in the Kherson region, the update said.
