Lightning Strike Near White House Leaves 3 Dead and 1 Injured

At least three people died from injuries, and one remains hospitalized from life-threatening injuries after the lightning strike in Lafayette Park near the White House on Thursday.

James Mueller, 76, and Donna Mueller, 75, were an elderly couple who died after the lightning strike in Lafayette Park.

James and Donna were visiting Washington DC to celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary.

On Friday, an unnamed 29-year-old male also died from his injuries from the lightning strike.

The White House offered condolences to the families of those who died in the incident.

“We are praying for those still fighting for their lives,” said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
