At least five people were killed and eight injured on Thursday in a crash involving multiple vehicles in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said they received a call of a “multiple casualty incident with reports of [multiple] injuries” at around 1:41 PM in the Windsor Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The incident started when a woman driving a gray Mercedes-Benz flew through a red light on La Brea Avenue and Slauson, hitting roughly six cars, with at least three vehicles bursting into flames.
The California Highway Patrol said a pregnant woman was one of the three adult victims, and her fetus did not survive.
Franco Pepi, California Highway Patrol spokesman, said medical respondents transported two injured adults and six injured minors to area hospitals after the incident.
The woman driving the Mercedes-Benz survived the crash and was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the details of the crash.
