Major US Companies’ Data Leaked From Russian Facial Recognition Company

The data of major US companies such as Intel, SpaceX, Dell, and Philip Morris was reportedly included in the leaked database of Russian company Entech Lab.

1,100 customer entities in the leaked database include government and private companies from at least 60 countries who used or tested NTech Lab’s FindFace facial recognition software.

“A few current clients, companies and organizations that have tested our video analytics software for various purposes,”  said NTech Lab on the database.

FindFace is a software developed by NTech Lab that detects faces from real-time footage, checks against monitoring lists, and informs users of matches.

NTech however reassured that  “there are no potential threats to our customers and biometric data,” despite the leak.

Only Philip Morris International confirmed testing FindFace in in 2017 and 2018 but said it had chosen another software to use for age verification purposes.
