Rapper JayDaYoungan died after suffering gunshot wounds on Wednesday outside his home in Louisiana.
The Bogalusa Police Department confirmed the shooting of JayDaYoungan on Facebook on Thursday.
Bogalusa police said they responded to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of Superior Avenue around 5:50 PM.
JayDaYoungan, 24, whose real name was Javorius Tykies Scott, was rushed to the Our Lady of the Angels Emergency Room.
Kenyatta Scott Sr., JayDaYoungan’s relative, was also shot and taken to a hospital but is now in stable condition.
Bogalusa police said that JayDaYoungan died before midnight.
While responding to the incident, another shooting unfolded in the 800 block of Marshall Richardson Road at around 7 PM.
Bogalusa Police Department detectives are investigating the incident and working on leads.
JayDaYoungan was known for some of his popular songs such as “23 Island,” “Catch Me in Traffic,” and “Muddy Situation.”
