Mohammed bin Salman Heads to Greece, and France For Bilateral Talks

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will visit Greece and France today (Tuesday) and will meet with top leadership of the two countries to discuss bilateral ties and matters of mutual interest.

Prince Mohammed’s visit to Greece is his first to the European Union since the 2018 killing of Saudi-American journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Prince Mohammed’s last visit to France was in April 2018. During his visit he met with the French president Emmanuel Macron and the two countries also signed 18 Memorandums of Understandings in fields of energy, agriculture, tourism and culture.

Macron visited Riyadh last year and US President Joe Biden met with Prince Mohammed earlier this month as part of efforts to mend ties with Riyadh that deteriorated after the killing of Khashoggi.

US intelligence said they have obtained reports which confirmed that Prince Mohammed approved the murder of Khashoggi who was killed in Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.

Moreover, the Greek foreign ministry said that Prince Mohammed would meet with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the two countries expected to sign bilateral agreements in different areas.
