Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki on Tuesday said that Afghanistan’s territory will not be allowed to be used for carrying out attacks on other countries.
In a meeting with his Uzbekistan counterpart, Vladimir Norov in Tashkent, Muttaki said that Afghanistan was no longer posing a security threat to Uzbekistan and to its other neighbors.
“Afghanistan would like to have a strong relationship with Uzbekistan and we consider Tashkent as our strong partner,” Muttaki told Norov.
The two foreign ministers also discussed issues concerning mutual interests and sought an acceleration of cooperation in all areas.
On his part, Norov called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan and stressed the importance of girls’ access to school as well as respecting women’s rights and ethnic minorities.
Muttaki arrived in Tashkent on Monday to participate in the International Conference on Security and Economic Development of Afghanistan today (Tuesday).
