Turkey Expects Quick Start Of Ukraine Grain Shipments

Turkey on Monday called for an immediate start of resuming grain shipments from Ukraine as per as it was agreed under an UN-brokered deal.

Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar in a phone call with the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Aleksandr Kubrakov had expressed satisfaction with the announcement that the grain shipment will start this week.

“It is important that the first ship starts sailing as soon as possible,” Akar told Kubrakov

During the call, Akbar reiterated Turkey’s continued efforts for the success of the shipment and said that the work in the Joint Coordination Center continues intensively.

On Friday, Russia and Ukraine signed an UN-brokered deal in Turkey on the resumption of Ukraine’s grain shipment from Black Sea ports.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey was expecting Kyiv and Moscow to keep to their responsibilities under the deal.
