Leaders Of Kyrgyzstan And Tajikistan Discuss Bilateral, Regional Issues

Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on Friday expressed readiness to accelerate coordinated cooperation in different areas aimed at further improving bilateral ties, and find a way to resolve border issues.

During a meeting with his Tajikistan counterpart on Friday, Emomali Rahmon, Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov said that they discussed issues concerning bilateral and regional issues.

The two presidents also agreed to work on the intergovernmental commission for the delimitation and demarcation of boundaries between the two countries.

Japarov and Rahmon also stressed upon the importance and acceleration of using the water resources of trans-boundary rivers in the border areas.

The two Presidents also pressed for continuation of regular political dialogue in order to further cement bilateral ties in principle of good neighborhoods.

Japarov highlighted the need to resolve any sort of issues through dialogue and diplomatic channels.

In a separate meeting, Tajikistan president Rahmon met with his Uzbekistan counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the Central Asian summit in Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, both the presidents agreed to speed up efforts to improve bilateral relations in the area of politics, trade, industry, agriculture, energy, transport and logistics.
