Ukraine Grain Export Reached Claims Turkey

Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will sign a deal that resumes Ukraine grain exports via the Black Sea route.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine brought a halt to Ukraine grain shipments and left 20 million tons of grain stuck in storage silos in the port city of Odesa.

Details of the agreement were not immediately disclosed.

Russia and Ukraine are both major global wheat suppliers, but Russia’s invasion of neighboring Ukraine sent global food prices soaring and sparked an international food security crisis.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s office said a general agreement was reached on a UN plan during talks in Istanbul last week and that it would now be put in writing by the parties.
