Montana Gunman Rams Family and Opens Fire, Father and Toddler Killed

A Montana gunman drove his vehicle into a family walking on a roadway before opening fire with a shotgun, killing a toddler and a 39-year-old man on Sunday.

The Glacier County Sheriff’s Office said Derick Madden, 37, intentionally drove his vehicle into the Siau family while walking along the roadway in East Glacier Park.

Sheriff Vernon Billedeaux said Madden crashed his vehicle into a tree, then shot at the family with a shotgun at about 10 PM.

Two women in the Siau family were critically injured in the incident, including one previously in a relationship with Madden.

Christina Siau, 30, sustained injuries but fought back and killed Madden after he attacked her with a knife.

McKenzie Siau, 1, died of her injuries while her critically injured mother, Christy Siau, 40, was holding her.

David Siau, 39, McKenzie’s father and Christy’s husband, also died in the shooting incident.

“The investigation continues and detectives are working tirelessly to find all the details and circumstances surrounding this horrific event,” the Glacier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Medical responders transported Christy and Christina to a hospital, where they are getting treatment for their injuries.
