Four Killed in New Mexico in Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Helicopter Crash

Three employees with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office and one county fire department staffer were killed when a sheriff’s office helicopter crashed near Las Vegas, New Mexico, the sheriff’s office said on social media.

There were no survivors, officials added, noting the information is preliminary.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash with cooperation with the New Mexico State Police and the Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating.

The crashed helicopter, dubbed Metro-2 by the Bernalillo Sherrifs Department is a BELL UH-1H (Huey)
