Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian claimed that Iran supports efforts to end the war in Ukraine and ready to help find a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
During a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, Amirabdollahian said that Iran is against war whether it’s in Afghanistan, Yemen, and Palestine or in Ukraine.
“From the outset, we were against war in Ukraine, and we are ready to work for de-escalation,” Amirabdollahian told Kuleba.
Rejecting reports about sending drones to Russia to be used in war in Ukraine, Amirabdollahian called it a “baseless allegation” spread by the US National Security Advisor.
He also reiterated Iran’s continued support to end the war in Ukraine, calling for a comprehensive dialogue in a bid to reach a political solution to the crisis.
On her part, Kuleba thanked Iran for supporting peace in Ukraine and stressed on continuation of interactions between the foreign ministries of both the countries.
“Accusations and false reports should not damage relations between Kiev and Tehran,” Kuleba said, expressing readiness to open a new diplomatic chapter between the two states.
