Iran on Thursday accused the US of spreading lies about what it describes Tehran’s support to Russia in its war against Ukraine.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Nasser Kanaani said that US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, who accompanies President Joe Biden, started his Middle East tour by accusing Iran of supporting the killing of Ukrainians.
“Apparently lying and cheating is contagious among US politicians who resort to fabrication of evil ends,” Kanaani said in a tweet, referring to Sullivan’s claim of Iran’s plan to provide Russia with drones to be used in the Ukraine war.
Khanaani also accused Sullivan of reinforcing US unconditional support for the “child-murdering” regime of Israel.
Sullivan had recently said that Washington had received intelligence information, showing that Iran was preparing to provide Russia with “up to several hundred UAVs, including weapons-capable UAVs on an expedited timeline,” to help Moscow’s invitation in Ukraine.
On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said Iran doesn’t support war between Russia and Ukraine, and pledged to work for a ceasefire during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s scheduled visit to Tehran.
