Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Wednesday spoke with King Salman of Saudi Arabia, and the two sides discussed regional and international developments as well as steps to further improve bilateral ties.
During the phone call, the two leaders shed light on a multitude of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The Egyptian presidency in a briefed statement said that President El-Sisi and King Salman wished peace, security and development on both countries.
The phone call comes one day before US President Joe Biden’s scheduled visit to Saudi Arabia, where he will also participate in the Summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council plus Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan (known as the GCC+3) to be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from July 13-16.
While in Saudi Arabia, the President Biden will discuss a range of bilateral, regional, and global issues with Saudi officials as well as GCC leaders.
