Police have arrested a man in Syria’s north-western province of Aleppo for allegedly torturing her daughter to death after he caught her talking to a young man on mobile phone.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) on Monday said that the incident took place in Jendires district, and a 17-year-old girl was brutally killed by her father.
“While the man was trying to bury his daughter, claiming that she died of natural causes, a police patrol retrieved the girl’s body to be examined by coroners to identify the cause of death,” SOHR said.
Without mentioning the names of victim and the father, SOHR reported that it has been confirmed by the coroners that the girl was tortured and brutally beaten to death.
The girl’s father and mother were arrested in connection.
Meanwhile, a woman from Al-Basoutah village in Afrin hung herself to death using a rope in her husband’s house in Jubana village in Raju district over family disputes.
The incident occurred on the first day of Eid Al-Adah.
Furthermore, military police found the dead body of a woman from her house in Sheikh Blla in Raju district in Aleppo.
According to SOHR, the woman was a wife of a “National Army” militiaman, and her body was taken to the military hospital in Afrin city for investigations.
The reason behind her killing is not known yet, but SOHR said that military police has documented the incident as a suicide.
