Four Wounded in Shanghai Hospital Stabbing

At least four people were wounded in a stabbing incident at a renowned Shanghai hospital on Saturday morning.

Huangpu District police rushed to the scene when they received emergency reports of a stabbing at Ruijin hospital at about 11:30 AM.

“The police quickly arrived on the scene and discovered a man holding a group of people hostage with a knife on the hospital’s seventh floor. When the suspect intended to injure the hostages and punish the police, the police decisively fired a shot to injure and subdue him,” the Huangpu District police said.

Huangpu District police added that medical personnel are treating four citizens for wounds and were “not in a life-threatening condition”.

The unnamed attacker’s motive is currently unknown.
