American basketball star Brittney Griner pleaded guilty to drug charges in Russia but said she did not mean to carry drugs.
In her second court appearance on Thursday, Griner said she had packed in a hurry but did not intend to break the law.
Griner could face 10-year imprisonment if the court finds her guilty.
The Khimki City Court in Moscow also questioned Thursday two custom officials that supposedly inspected Griner’s luggage.
On February 17, authorities at Sheremetyevo International Airport said they found cannabis oil from Griner’s luggage. The prosecutor alleged that the cannabis oil was for Griner’s personal use.
The court started the trial on Griner’s case on July 1.
The US Department of State had said that Moscow had wrongfully detained Griner.
