Azerbaijan and Israel Sign Agreement on Air Services

Azerbaijan and Israel on Friday signed an agreement to enhance bilateral cooperation in air transportation.

Israeli Minister of Transport and Road Safety Merav Michaeli welcomed visiting Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev and described the agreement as an important step for promoting tourism and cultural ties between the two states.

During the meeting, Michaeli said that relations between Israel and Azerbaijan is “rapidly growing,” calling it in the best mutual interests of the two states.

Nabiyev also met with the Minister of Tourism of Israel and co-chair of the Israeli-Azerbaijani Joint Intergovernmental Commission, Konstantin Yoel Razvozov, and said that there is huge potentiality between the countries to cooperate in the areas of tourism in a bid to increase people-to-people exchange.

In his part, Razvozov said that Israel and Azerbaijan had embarked on their 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, calling for more efforts to further improve cooperation in different areas.

“There is a need for cooperation in areas of security, agriculture, energy, water supply, healthcare, as well as tourism,” Razvozov said.

Separately, Nabiyev met with the CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority Dror Bin, and Director of the Israel Space Agency Uri Oron, and discussed prospects for cooperation with Israel’s space science industry and scientific research centers.

Native also invited Israeli companies to participate in the International Astronautical Congress to be held in Baku in 2023.
