Cloudflare Outage Takes Popular Internet Sites and Services Offline

A Cloudflare outage has taken most of the internet and online services offline.

“A critical P0 incident was declared at approximately 06:34 AM UTC. Connectivity in Cloudflare’s network has been disrupted in broad regions. Customers attempting to reach Cloudflare sites in impacted regions will observe 500 errors. The incident impacts all data plane services in our network,” said Cloudflare.

According to Downdetector, most services and sites including Office 365, Waze, Discord, Shopify, Coinbase, Fitbit, and Peleton were unavailable for several hours.

Even Cloudflare’s own DNS lookup service reportedly had problems while the API was inaccessible

As of 07:20 UTC, Cloudflare managed to implement a fix but did not disclose the nature of the outage.

By 08:06 UTC, Cloudflare announced that the problems have been resolved.
