UK Court Grants Bail for Actor Kevin Spacey Over Sexual Assault

American actor Kevin Spacey was granted bail on Thursday in his first appearance in a London court after being charged with five felonies, including four counts of sexual assault.

Spacey was granted unconditional bail after his lawyer told the court he would need to return to the United States (US) between court dates to work and see his family.

The 62-year-old “House of Cards” star was charged with four charges of sexual assault against three men, as well as a fifth allegation of inducing someone to engage in penetrative sexual intercourse without their consent.

Spacey’s lawyer told the court that his client “strenuously denies” all criminal claims.

The accusations against Spacey were authorized by the Crown Prosecution Service in late May, but they could not be legally applied until Monday when he was in the United Kingdom.
