Mexican Politician Killed by Angry Mob Over WhatsApp Rumors

Mexican political advisor Daniel Picazo has been beaten and burned to death by an angry mob in the central state of Puebla after rumors spread on WhatsApp claiming he was involved in child kidnapping.

Picazo was reportedly visiting his grandparent in the village of Papatlazolco when he got lost and was cornered by 200 angry villagers who claimed was roaming the streets in a van with an abducted minor.

The villagers then proceeded to beat up Picazo before setting him on fire at a sports field.

Local police reportedly tried to stop the villagers but were overwhelmed.

No arrests have been made so far while the city council is still investigating the incident.

“The competent authorities are already investigating what happened to determine responsibility,” said the council.
