Number of Syrians Accepted In German Tripled In 2021

The number of Syrians who became naturalized German citizens was three times higher in 2021 than the previous year.

Info Migrants said that the increase in naturalized Syrians came as many of those who fled the war-torn country between 2014 and 2016 fulfilled the German eligibility criteria.

Info Migrants said that the overall number of foreigners who became naturalized Germans grew 20% in 2021, reaching roughly 131,600 people, which among them 19,100 were  Syrian citizens.

Most of the Syrian refugees were qualified after six years and showed a particular willingness to integrate, like strong German language skills and civic commitment.

Turkish people were second-most naturalized in Germany as the 12,200 people were accepted last year.

Info Migrants added that 6,900 Romanian, 5,500 Polish, and 5,000 Italian also became German citizens.
