Kuwaiti Coast Guard Seizes Iranian Boat and Arrests Three Pirates

The Kuwaiti Coast Guard has seized an Iranian boat and arrested three people on board on charges of intercepting and stealing Kuwaiti fishing vessels.

Kuwait Interior Ministry in a tweet said that the maritime patrols of the General Administration of Coast Guard had immediately taken action to intercept the Iranian boat after receiving several reports against them in the southern region.

The ministry said that the Iranian pirates had looted a Kuwait fishing vessel inside Kuwaiti territorial water near Qaruh Island.

The Coast Guard engaged in firing several warning shots and forced the Iranian pirates to stop and surrender themselves.

The ministry said they have launched an investigation into the incident.

The Iranian side did not comment on the issue so far.
