Iran and Kazakhstan Agree on Energy Cooperation

Iran and Kazakhstan on Thursday called for increased cooperation in areas of energy and other bilateral issues.

Iranian Minister of Petroleum, Javad Owji and Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Bulat Aqchulaqov agreed to explore ways to further accelerate cooperation in energy sectors between the two countries.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 27th Baku Energy Forum in Azerbaijan, where the two sides also focused on mutual cooperation on upstream and downstream parts of the petroleum industry and other types of energy cooperation.

“We have the potential to work in the oil and gas sectors,” Owji told Aqchulaqov.

Javad Owji also expected to meet with Azerbaijani officials and other representatives during his three-day stay in Baku, to discuss trade, security, and issues relating to the regional and international concerns.
