Slovakia will hand over to Ukraine Zuzana 2 self-propelled Howitzers to “expel” Russian forces from the country.
“The occupiers will not be expelled with medicine packages, so we are providing weapons,” Slovakian President Zuzana Čaputová said.
Čaputová said that Slovakia had increased its determination to support Ukraine in its war against Russia. She added that Slovakia is committed to supporting Ukraine’s European Union membership.
In March, Slovakia also sent an S-300 air defense system to Ukraine. Slovakian Prime Minister Eduard Heger said the country would not remain ignorant of the loss of human lives because of Russia’s aggression.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had urged the world to support Ukraine with heavy weapons to protect the nation from Russia’s attacks.
United States President Joe Biden confirmed Tuesday that the US would provide advanced weaponry to Ukraine.
