Ukraine Releases Video of Kamikaze Drone Taking Out Russian Tanks

The Ukrainian military released for the first time video footage of its Special Operations Forces using a foreign-made kamikaze drone targeting Russian positions.

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces posted the 44-second video on Facebook on May 24 showing a kamikaze drone that appeared to neutralize a Russian tank.

The video, filmed by a camera on the drone, showed the tank engulfed in an explosive fireball.

The Ukrainian military said that the drone was “equipped with a powerful explosive fly directly into the tank, causing the opponent irreparable losses.”

“This video is for the first time published to the general public, but it is worth noting that the combat use of [unmanned aerial vehicle]-kamikaze is a regular practice for the [Special Operations Forces] of Ukraine during the war with Russians,” the Ukrainian military said.

At the end of the video, the text “Executive Producer Switchblade” flashes on the screen.

The United States sent 100 Switchblade drones to the Ukrainian military in April.

“This is a good example of how the help of foreign partners combined with the training and professionalism of our soldiers produces positive results on the front lines,” the Ukrainian military said.
